Limited Edition of 100 pieces worldwide
Dalli, dalli! designed by German illustrator Cynthia Kittler.
You can read the time by checking the position of the characters legs:
• The leg with the striped trousers points to the hour
• The leg with the plain orange trousers points to the minutes
As time passes, the character appears in a constant state of motion, running at one moment, then tumbling and falling at another.
Cynthia Kittler explains her inspiration:
"When I was a kid, I had to run for the school bus every single day. I grew up in a small village in the countryside, so it was crucial to catch this one particular bus in order to not be late. More than once I stumbled, fell down, scraped my knee, or slipped on ice. Even today I often find myself in a rush - I just have a hard time getting out of the house in a timely manner!
The running, rushing thing has become family joke about me, so I wanted to create a character who reflected this, with legs that work like watch hands. I really like how some positions look like running but others like stumbling or even falling.
The title "Dalli, dalli!" is an expression that my grandmother likes to say, meaning "Hurry Up!“ in German. In the 70s and 80s the expression was most popular I think, which is why I chose this colour theme for the little character."
Dalli, Dalli! was hand-drawn by Cynthia - if you look closely, you can see the beautiful texture created by her pencil. Mr Jones Watches then printed and assembled each watch by hand in London. The watch was printed on the glass, minute, hour disc and dial and it has cumulatively the most print impressions of any watch they've ever created - with a total of 29 individual print layers across 13 different colors on each watch.
This design is released in a limited run of 100, each watch has is numbered on the case back.
