ONLY 50 PIECES MADE WORLDWIDE | ONLY 5 PIECES IN THE U.S.A.
Muralist, artist and storyteller Vic Lee, designed this statement watch with a powerful message. The eye-catching artwork on the watch face is composed of the words todays dreams tomorrows memories, a provocation to challenge you to seize the moment and make your dreams into a reality. Vic says that, “time is a valuable asset: we feel we have lots of it, then suddenly we realize it's running out.” His goal was to create a piece of wearable artwork that would stop you in your tracks and inspire you to live your life to the fullest.
The Dream Maker was made in Mr. Jones Watches' London workshop. The design was printed in layers, to create a three dimensional effect. A rich black and contrasting rose gold was printed on the dial and glass of the watch. Vic explains the thinking behind the design: The Dream Maker celebrates those ‘I wish I could’ moments in life. Acting on impulse and making a moment, no matter how long or how brief a thing to remember. It's like standing on the edge of a mountain. On roller skates. You probably wouldn't do it again, but oh my was it memorable!
The Dream maker is a special, collectable watch that is limited to just 50 pieces worldwide. Each watch is numbered on the glass back.
About the artist
Vic Lee spent 20 years working as a graphic designer on major branding, interior and retail design projects. He describes himself as, “a wordsmith, a mapmaker, a typographer, ragamuffin and freestyler. What I do makes me smile, and I am fortunate to be asked to do what I do for all and sundry, from the smallest personal piece to huge scale works. My clients come through recommendations and through connections in the industry. I am a sort of rumor. I don’t crave awards or accolades, just to do a fantastic job for the clients I work with. I absolutely love what I do, it’s not a job, it’s a way of life. Pure unadulterated delicious illustration - no additives”.

This watch is powered by a Japanese made mechanical movement that you can admire through the exhibition caseback. The watch is wound either by turning the winding crown on the side of the case or by the everyday motion of your wrist. The weight on the mechanism rotates in response to normal movement and transfers this energy to winding up the mainspring, which in turn provides the motive power to drive the watch. When you first receive your watch (or if you leave it unattended for a few days), the main spring will run down completely and the watch will stop. To start the watch running again you just need to set it to the right time, wind the crown clockwise 20 turns, and strap it to your wrist. The main spring will continue to wind up in response to your movements. Mechanical movements do not require batteries, however you need to have your watch serviced regularly by a watchmaker to clean and re-oil the movement and replace any worn out parts. Mr. Jones recommends having your watch serviced every three to five years depending on how frequently you wear it.
