The HALOGRAPH Automatic is a living time machine. YOU are the power source.
Don't we find ourselves instinctively drawn to the kinetic nature of a mechanical watch? Its gears transfer force upon one another, interacting with the natural conditions of our universe, just like our muscles and bones. It ticks with a beating heart, just like us.
The new limited edition Halograph Automatic features "halo" hands that display the time in an entirely new way. It doesn't need batteries or updates to do its work while summoning compliments and sparking conversation everywhere you go. All it needs is YOU!
The HALOGRAPH Automatic lives on mechanical energy. It's not an electronic gadget: it's a mechanical heirloom. Like the chambers of a beating mechanical heart, the twin balance wheels pump life into this complex time machine. Seeing the action of a living machine on your wrist gives a thrill no electronic gadget can.
Each Limited Edition HALOGRAPH Automatic will be individually engraved with a number from 001 to 999. This is a singular opportunity to acquire one of the rare first edition XERIC HALOGRAPH Automatic watches. Carpe Diem!
The HALOGRAPH Automatic is powered by your daily life, storing up to 36 hours of energy from a simple flick of your wrist. A beating mechanical heart pumps life through this complex machine. You can view the rotor generating the power supply for its mechanical movement through a crystal porthole on the back of the case.
A smartwatch starts to die as soon as its circuitry is activated, and its functional obsolescence starts as soon as it's off the assembly line. A mechanical watch will never be obsolete. It will always connect you in a meaningful way with this moment in time. With the HALOGRAPH Automatic, we think we've designed a v1.0 that 'nailed it' the first time, and will be as exceptional in form and function in hundreds of years as it is now.
The HALOGRAPH is super easy to read, as the Halo Hands float over the four, dimensional, hemicycle time display arcs, they encircling the numbers for the time. The inner arcs display the hours, the outer arcs displays the minutes.

Aesthetically beautiful watch!
Works perfectly so far.
Unique Design, VERY Disappointing Color
Posted by Edrolfo Leones on Aug 27th 2017
Actually, more like 3.5 Stars...
When I saw this watch online, I was eager to pre-order. The blue version was striking in the marketing photos and videos. I expected to see a vibrant, cobalt blue like version that would have stood out in my collection (e.g., check out the Swiss De Bethune DB25L Milky Way blue watch online).
When I finally received this watch, I was VERY disappointed in seeing the blue was much darker and flatter looking than in the photos. It's a shame they didn't pay more attention to more accurately replicating the colors of the watch in their pics, or more ideally, making the real blue color from the manufacturer match the photos. Don't get me wrong, the real blue looks okay, it's just not a compelling as it could've been, in my opinion.
Another disappointment was the lack of glow in the dark hands and numbers. I wore it to a theatre screening after the first week and it discovered this. Makes the watch completely useless at night.
After calling customer support to return the watch for a refund, I ultimately decided to keep it mainly for the overall design. It still gets some attention because it's so unique.
Functionally, though it seems to work fine and is accurate enough. Although some of the type sizes for the minutes are really difficult to read at a glance. Like it takes a few minutes to adjust your eyes to figure out exactly what time it is. Still, I got it for both design and engineering reasons, since I have a smartphone to tell me the accurate time. Build quality seems to be on par with other watches in this price range. I've only had it for less than a month, so we'll see how well it stands up over time.

A very striking way of reading time. Like the planets revolve around the sun the hands of this watch have planetary like hands that tell the time. Great colour combination.

No better word to describe such a beautiful and unique watch. Whenever I go somewhere, there is nonstop interest in my watch. Telling time takes a bit of learning, but comes naturally at a certain point. Worth the purchase and would recommend to anyone looking to buy a watch!
Eye candy for watch enthusiast

This watch is cool and different, the unique hands are unlike anything I have seen. It will most certainly grab attention and you can feel the movement of the watch. All in all great watch and I'm happy I purchased.

I had already purchashed a Xeric Xeriscope last year so I already knew that I was getting a high quality product. I absolutely love the Halograph. Everytime i wear it, people always ask me 'what is it?' And 'where did you get that from?'. It is a great watch if you are looking for something unique.

I had a desire for another watch to fill a specific niche in my collection - blue (or blue based) and skeleton.
When I stumbled upon this watch, I looked and thought it over for about two weeks - it seemed gorgeous and unique, but I didn't want to rush ordering something I may regret.
I finally "pulled the trigger", so to speak, and bought it. It arrived promptly (within a week) like every watch I've bought from here (even on the free shipping option).
When I opened the box I realized I made the right choice. This is a stunning watch that will interest you and anyone who sees you with it, and makes for an amazing conversation piece.
This particular color scheme contrasts and compliments nicely, adding to the appeal. I also prefer this version over its more expensive sibling - the cloth / fabric banded one - and it's cheaper brother - the chronograph. This leather band feels very comfortable and being able to see the internal workings are part of the appeal.
As a side note, Watches.com has superb customer service. I noticed a small blemish on the glass of my watch after I had worn it for a few days. I knew it was against company policy to accept a return with signs of wear but they immediately offered to exchange the watch. I decided to keep it because I had grown very fond it at that point.
most interesting watch I own

This is a great looking time piece and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it after only a few days of wear. I might swap out the straps for a nicer looking one but for now I'm loving the look of it on my wrist.
Good enough to buy twice...

Great service and response. Even got the serial number I requested!
Pros: Very unique, eye catching, unconventional movement. Seems to keep very accurate time for an automatic watch.
Cons: Strap ends up looking a bit chintzy. I swapped it out for a slightly darker (cognac, perforated leather) band and it looks tons better. There also seems to be some potential confusion about the origination of the straps. I thought Horween was the maker of these straps, but I'm not sure this is the case for this watch at least. Further, there's an embossed "PRC" inside of the strap, leading me to think this strap was made in China. Regardless, they seem to otherwise be decent quality quick release straps, and are extremely convenient. There's been a slight cloud over the actual production location of the watch and its movement. The "Designed in California" bit is somewhat meaningful, but provided no specific details on the manufacturing, it leads me to think we're talking China. (Happy to be corrected here if otherwise).
As you move your wrist, you can also hear the clicking of the winding mechanism in a quiet room. I'm not used to this in my other automatics, which were relatively silent when winding. The sapphire coated K1 domed crystal is a reasonable cost savings measure, but at this price point, I'm a little conflicted by they couldn't squeeze in straight up sapphire for higher quality. This dome is a unique and scratch magnet feature of the watch, so I'm concerned at the longevity of the dome. Finally the watch is only rated at a 3 ATM, which doesn't do loads for confidence as a daily wearer. I'm not expecting to do scuba, but if I accidentally hop in the shower, or grab a pool toy from the pool, I'd like come semblance of confidence I just didn't ruin the thing.
From a practical perspective, the watch hands also don't glow in the dark, which makes it unusable in all but perfect lighting conditions. Lastly, the movement isn't particularly intuitive, and I find myself having to spend a little more time than usual to decipher. I can't ding too much for that, but that's just the reality of such an interesting movement versus more traditional.
Even everything considered above, the answer to the question would you buy again is a conditional Yes.
I actually did repurchase this watch after having the original stolen from me in a Chicago hotel room. I guess it's a backhanded compliment that the room staff there also found it intriguing enough to lift. It's still the most unique watch in my collection.

What a great service. Very timely delivery (no pun intended!)
And Man What A Time Piece! It is flawless in construction. Simple, clean lined exterior with a watch face that is a work of art! The double tourbillon movement really adds to the look & draws reall attention to the piece. I like many admirers Love it.

I have been buying watches from Watches.com for several years...always excellent, from customer service, to delivery...easy returns, if needed.
Outstanding Customer Service.

I had an unfortunate thing happen with the links for two of the watches I ordered (the issue was with Nixon, not with watches.com just to be absolutely clear) and after being left stranded by Nixon I contacted Angela with watches.com who fixed the problem and was friendly and courteous the entire time. I would have 100% been busying the rest of my watches from them due to her efforts alone but on top of their customer service being outstanding, the products arrived on time and looked absolutely gorgeous when unpacked. 5 stars doesn't do them justice.

Great selection of watches, really good prices. Fast shipping is just as important to me when buying from someone. Watches.com has fast shipping, and good communications on that shipping. I would highly recommend watches.com to anyone who has a watch fetish. Thanks.
Great quailty and excellent price

The price was so good that I was worried it would be something different than it appeared, but the watch was exactly what I had seen elsewhere for much more money. Great quality and excellent price. It was here lightening quick! I will definitely use watches.com again.
