In the annals of aviation history, perhaps no fighter plane stirred as much controversy, excitement and technological wonder as the Hawker Harrier “Jump Jet”, which flew for the Royal Air Force and for the US Air Force during the latter part of the 20th century. This incredible aircraft, powered by the famed Rolls Royce Pegasus series of engines provides the aesthetic backdrop for Hawker Harrier II Dual Retrograde Chronograph timepieces.
Measuring 45mm in diameter the case fits snug thanks to the carefully articulated polished lugs, which hugs the case to the wrist. With a colored anodized aluminum chronograph pusher and matching detail on the crown, the strong circular lines of the case are complemented with appropriate yet finessed detailing that is striking to behold. Inside the case lies the precision Japanese made chronograph retrograde movement that reads off day, date, seconds, minute and 30m readout via a perfectly balanced series of hands, circular discs and registers all precisely weighted to offer clear cut information at an instant whilst never compromising on the time reading functionality of the watch. The hour and minute hands are sword shaped in a classic aviation style, proportionately built-in to stay in sync with the rest of the timepiece's generally modern feel.
Crowning this symphony of lines underneath the lens, the chronograph seconds hand is arrow shaped in a harmonious bi-color execution again hinting at the watches aeronautical DNA.The strap attaches wearer to watch with a combination leather and canvas strap with stitching designed to echo the harnesses and belts holding the pilot to the sheer potential power of the Harrier.
