Westminster Brunel Automatic Isambard Kingdom Brunel (1806-1859) was an English mechanical and civil engineer who is considered one of the most prolific figures in 19th Century England.
Brunel changed the face of the English landscape with his groundbreaking designs and ingenious constructions. Brunel built dockyards, the Great Western Railway, a series of important bridges and tunnels. His designs revolutionized public transport and modern engineering.
In tribute to his work, the Westminster Brunel timepiece from Thomas Earnshaw watches is a combination of similarly ingenious construction bearing industrial style and design. The 42mm diameter case with domed lens houses a dial design that frames the movement with two pillar like structures on the right and left all in a multi-layered style that lays against a "perlage" finished background.
With a 24 hour display and exposed flywheel the watch is the right combination of Victorian industrial style and watchmaking design flourishes all contained and balanced perfectly for an every day wear.
